Sara and I had such an amazing time celebrating with Nikki + Gabe a few weeks ago in Denver! Our friendship with Nikki goes way back to our days at A&M. She even lived with us for a summer a few years ago, and I backed straight into her car one morning… and she still asked me to be her wedding photographer!! Wow.
When they first talked to me about flying out to Denver to shoot their wedding in FEBRUARY, all I could think about was how on earth I would be able to stay warm and not dress like an Eskimo at this wedding. I absolutely had in my mind that Denver would be completely snow-covered and below zero. To my surprise, the weather was AMAZING, and I didn’t even have to wear a jacket. Nikki has to be one of the luckiest brides out there. The venue they chose, just south of Denver was awesome for a smaller wedding. Villa Parker had tons of character and provided lots of great little spots for photos.
I had a lot of fun getting to bring out their personality in their images. I’ve found that the time I get to spend with a couple on their wedding day is way more than just a time for them to get their photos taken. Typically, it’s the only time of the entire day where the bride and groom actually get to be with each other and relax. Because of this, I try my best to make that a very low-key and fun time. Nikki + Gabe did get a little carried away, however, and had a bit too much fun!
Enjoy some of my favorites from the day… and please consider flying me back to Colorado for your wedding! Seriously… me and CO have a thing going, and I’m kinda in love.
